SICOT & Education

SICOT PIONEER

This virtual platform hosts a series of different e-events ranging from webinars and podcasts to live streamed surgical demos.

Diploma Examination

In 2003, for the first time, SICOT held an examination for orthopaedic trainees during its Annual International Conference in Cairo, Egypt. The overall results of this first experience were very encouraging, and a SICOT Diploma Examination has been held every year since then.

Education Centres

The SICOT Education Centre is a focal point for stimulating and improving education in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology. It is a physical entity in a university or hospital that will assist in the education of orthopaedic trainees and continuing the knowledge of orthopaedic surgeons.

Educational Day

The needs of orthopaedic residents, fellows and practicing orthopaedic surgeons around the world are evolving constantly. At the same time, evidence-based knowledge in Orthopaedics is expanding at a very rapid rate. Acquiring and updating knowledge in a short span of time is essential and the SICOT Educational Day was conceived with exactly this purpose in mind.

Fellowships

These fellowships take place in many different countries (Germany, India, United States, Egypt, and others) and cover various specialties and operating procedures. The selected candidates travel for periods of two weeks up to one year and are able to develop their skills through observations and operations alongside renowned orthopaedic surgeons.

Congress Awards

The SICOT awards are granted to surgeons to reward them for their scientific achievement or to help them attend the Congress by supporting them financially.

Young Surgeons Committee

The vision of the Young Surgeons Committee is to provide young trainees from around the world with a resourceful educational platform to guide them whilst preparing for the SICOT Diploma and similar exit exams.
