Lester Lowe SICOT Awards (closed)

Two awards of USD 500 each, as well as free registration for the Congress, will be granted at the Closing Ceremony to two young orthopaedic surgeons. The purpose is to help them attend the meeting and encourage the submission of poster presentations.
Prerequisites: candidates must be members of SICOT under 40 years of age (2016 membership paid) and must have an abstract (poster) accepted for the Congress.

Marcela Uribe Zamudio Awards (closed)

Two prizes of USD 1,000 each are awarded during the Closing Ceremony to women orthopaedic surgeons or trainees under 40 years of age who have published an original scientific work in orthopaedics or traumatology in the English language within the last three years. The purpose of the award is to encourage young female researchers and clinicians.

SICOT-Kongress-Scholarship 2016 (closed)

The German section of SICOT is offering 2 scholarships worth EUR 500 each to attend the Congress. Candidates must be German Associate Members of SICOT under 40 years old and must have had an abstract accepted for presentation at the Congress.

SICOT Travelling Scholarships (closed)

5 doctors from SLAOT (Latin American Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology) member countries will be offered this award. The accommodation will be booked by SICOT (4 nights) and the travel expenses (in economy class) will be reimbursed upon providing relevant documents. The purpose is to allow Associate members of SICOT from SLAOT member countries to attend the Congress.
Prerequisites: candidates must be Associate Members of SICOT (2016 annual membership fee paid) under 40 years of age, members of the Orthopaedic Society of his/her country, and must have an abstract (oral or poster) accepted for the Rome Congress.

Henri Bensahel Award

This Award was established in 2009 in memory of Henri Bensahel, Professor of Paediatric Orthopaedics and a Founding Member of IFPOS (International Federation of Paediatric Orthopaedic Societies). A prize of EUR 300 is awarded at the Closing Ceremony to the best oral presentation in Paediatrics.
Hull Deformity Course SICOT Award

The best oral or poster presentation on Deformity of the Limb and Trauma will be granted a free registration to the Hull Deformity Course, which will take place on 25-28 June 2017 in Hull, United Kingdom. The course material, lunches and course dinner for all four days will be provided by the organiser. In addition, the accommodation costs will be reimbursed by SICOT up to EUR 500 (upon receiving the hotel receipt as proof of your expenses). However, the travel expenses will have to be covered by the awardee himself.
Shanmuga S. Jayakumar Award

This Award was created in 2013 in honour of Shanmuga S. Jayakumar, considered to be amongst the greatest paediatric orthopaedic surgeons in the United States. A prize of EUR 300 is awarded to one of the best oral presentations in Paediatrics.
SICOT/AAOS Annual Meeting Scholarships

AAOS (American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons) will provide two free registrations for the AAOS Annual Meeting to SICOT-selected scholarship recipients, who will be chosen from a pool of candidates under 45 years of age comprised of the winners of the best oral and poster presentations. Travel expenses will be partially covered by SICOT.
SICOT/CCJR Meeting Awards

The best oral and poster presentations in Arthroplasty will be granted this award, which includes one free registration (worth USD 900) for the CCJR (Current Concepts in Joint Replacement) Winter Course and one free registration for the Spring Course. Travel expenses up to EUR 500 will be covered by SICOT.
SICOT Oral Presentation Award

The presenting authors of the ten best oral papers present their papers for a second time at the Best Papers Session during the Congress. The presenting author of the best oral presentation selected during this session will be awarded a prize of EUR 800 at the Closing Ceremony.
